Teaching Strategy Reflection

The main theme in American Education right now is integration. They want to bring children with special needs into the classroom as well as those who may not speak English as their first language. They want to diversify the classroom and make everyone truly equal. I am one hundred percent on board with this idea. However, with the integration of new backgrounds, abilities, languages, cultures, and many other aspects, it is imperative that we teach our students the importance of diversity and that we be sensitive to each and every person in the classroom. The number one way to teach this behavior of complete tolerance is to lead by example. No matter what age you are teaching, your students will look up to you and will mimic what they are seeing.
