The Right Environment

It’s a constant challenge in our plugged-in technology-driven world, to find a place of quiet.   While tutoring however — it is imperative to find just such a place.  Somewhere that the sounds are not distracting,  that a low-level buzz or hum won’t block the quick and quiet sounds that are difficult to catch in the first place.   Imagine parsing out the sounds /f/ and /v/ with a TV or heater going in the background.   It’s important to really think out a place to conduct a tutoring  session to allow the student the best chance to learn.

Lighting is another consideration.  The right lighting may actually be different from student to student.  Some may need dimmer lighting, some may require lights that don’t  hum or flicker as much, and some may just enough lighting to really be able to focus on each letter individually.  Always keep an eye out for…
